Self Catering Holiday Cottages

The house and steadings were built in about 1850, and were originally part of Poltalloch Estate, having various uses and latterly being the Factor's House. In 1949 Sandy Gordon's grandparents left their home on the Island of Mull and bought the house and 100 acres of ground from the Malcolms of Poltalloch. The family have lived there ever since, Sandy having returned to farm the land after completing agricultural college in the 1970s.

About 70 sheep are now kept and in spring there are often pet lambs to feed. Sandy is a fisherman as well and in season fresh lobster, crab, prawns and clams can be supplied to order. Both properties have been awarded the Scottish Tourist Board's Four Star Award.

The Stable and The Bullock Shed

Part of the original Farm Steadings has now been renovated to a high standard to provide two self-catering units. THE BULLOCK SHED stands alone and sleeps four. THE STABLE is in the front wing of the main house and sleeps six. Both units provide pleasant accommodation in a rural setting. All gas, electricity, linen and towels are included in the price, and children and well-behaved dogs are welcome. Both cottages are furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Smoking is not permitted in either cottage.  Please ask for a full set of booking conditions.

The Bullock Shed

Originally a stable the building was last used for Bullocks (young cattle). There is full double-glazing, total control electric central heating and colour T.V, video, DVD player and CD player with radio. A sun porch leads into the open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area.
